HERITAGE

 

In 2000 the SRRA struck a Heritage Committee to address a neighbourhood concern about demolition of houses that contributed to the streetscape character of South Rosedale. This led to the commissioning of a Heritage Conservation District Study of the neighbourhood. After several public meetings, the Study was adopted by City Council in 2003. The Study was prepared by E.R.A. Architects Inc. with the research assistance of community volunteers and the financial assistance of more than 125 individuals and families. Information gathered in the Study, heritage evaluations (click here to see what they represent), and photographs are available for each property in the Interactive Map and Historic Property Information Database (designed by Alexis Torreno).
